Casper Explorer
An interactive block explorer for the Casper blockchain
The Project
Casper is a layer 1 blockchain designed for businesses, and Casper Labs, the organization that built Casper, provides enterprise-grade software and professional services to organizations building on the Casper Blockchain.
The goal was to create one application for clients to view everything about their private or hybrid chain in one place, including checkpoint reporting data, sidecar data, accounts, developer tools, contracts, and more, but the first iteration of the product is a block explorer—Casper Explorer.
I designed what this was going to look like. This design was used for the hybrid blockchain for the city of Chengdu, one of the largest cities in China.

Timeline
4 months, to launch V1; 2 months to update branding
Context
I was a solo designer and worked on a team of primarily developers. The block explorer team consisted of me, one product manager, and 4 developers, with input from our director of engineering.
Tools
Figma, GitHub
UI Design
I designed the user interface for Casper Explorer. These screens reflect Casper’s brand update and were used in the second iteration of Casper Explorer. Mobile screens are in the process of being updated but have been de-prioritized for other projects.
Components
I worked closely with the front-end engineers to bring Casper Explorer to life. These are a sampling of components from both the light and dark modes.
